ADM, UM6P AND MAScIR WORK TOGETHER TO STRENGTHEN THE SAFETY OF MOTORWAY USERS

The three institutions are launching an innovative research project that uses Artificial Intelligence to understand and analyze the causes of highway accidents and make relevant decisions.

As part of the Framework Cooperation Agreement, concluded in 2020 between the Moroccan National Highway Company (ADM), the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) and the MAScIR Foundation (Moroccan Foundation for Advanced Science, Innovation And Research), in the field of research and scientific and technological development, the three institutions signed on Wednesday, February 02, 2022, a specific agreement to implement a research project aimed at enhancing safety on national highways.

The aim of this project is to develop a decision-making solution for processing and valorizing data from accident databases, traffic information and the various components of the infrastructure and its equipment, while also integrating meteorological data and other risk factors related to accidents. These data from different sources will then be analyzed using Artificial Intelligence to produce a system of recommendations for road safety actions that will enable ADM to reduce the number of accidents and thus improve the safety of highway users.

This project is completely in line with the ADM’s strategy, which attaches the highest priority to the safety of travel on the motorway network, and reinforces the deployment of investment programs in new technologies by opening up to renowned players in research and development.
